Highlights
|
I quickly create elegant pieces of software or entire systems to solve problems with complex mathematical/algorithmic issues or constraints such as bandwidth, performance, and/or cost.
My most recent completed projects are:
Mobile Positioning System: Multithreaded, fault correcting Java program that uses database correlation to position all active GSM cell phones within a carrier’s network in near real-time with an accuracy of 100m. I headed the group of engineers and programmers that were responsible for creating and improving this program. In completing this project I became an expert in 2G wireless network protocol and infrastructure.
Point of Interest Search/Geocoder: Socket based service that takes in a free form search string and returns a list of most likely points of interest, locations, or addresses. This project along with the core routing engine required me to become very familiar with NavTeq data sets as well as GIS concepts in general
Location Transmission Protocol: A Secure method used for transferring 5000 anonymous handset location records per second over an ADSL connection that could be easily replicated so that multiple internal subsystems could use the location data.
Core Routing Engine: Completed a routing engine that uses a combination of database manipulation and strategic graph structures to quickly find an optimal route through a nationwide road network based on traffic conditions.
