My specialty has been the construction of Services, and the Service Oriented Architecture that supports them. These Services are typically highly available, make use of concurrent and/or grid processing, and utilize a relational database for persistence.
I've also done a fair amount of work building web user interfaces that provide reporting, administration, and general business functionality. I've built a variety of plain web applications, portlets, and slick javascript clients.
I've fulfilled all roles necessary to take a complete system from an idea, to a fully functional and maintained reality. I've worn the hats of analyst, architect, project manager, technical leader, coder, tester, deployer, system administrator, and maintainer. Having fulfilled all these roles gives me a unique perspective than enables me to construct high quality software that is considerate of all the other people involved in the process.
