Healthcare Group Purchasing Organization –Worked on a team to develop an ASP.Net application in C# to replace the existing contract management system. The application gives the contract managers and its member organizations the ability to setup, maintain and search for a large number of contracts as well as the products and suppliers contained in those contracts.
In addition, created an Employee Performance Appraisal form using InfoPath. Multiple excel spreadsheets were consolidated into one dynamic form, allowing managers to easily use the form for any employee. A schema was designed for the structure of the xml data to be captured by the form and relevant data was filtered, using xslt to dynamically import data based on the employee position selected. Also, worked with contract managers and finance managers to streamline the process of reporting budgets and working forecasts. Helped reduce a quarterly two week process down to less than one minute. Tools and technologies employed included ASP.Net, C#, HTML, JavaScript, SQL Server, Microsoft InfoPath, Excel, XML, XSLT and Visual Basic 6.
Inland Transportation Company – Worked on an ASP.Net web application developed in C# used for tracking shipments as well as estimating cost and requesting quotes for future shipments. User controls were created fore reuse of common functionality and ADO.Net was used to execute stored procedures on the SQL Server database. The application also employed DTS packages for loading data from an outside source.
Financial Services Institute – Created custom web pages for an internal billing and commission application used by staff to determine broker commissions and billings. The application utilized ASP with VB components, accessing an Oracle database through stored procedures. XML was utilized for manipulation of data on the client side and passed through to the database.
Asset Management Firm – Created custom forms to manage account information. Improved their client relationships by providing more information about their clients at their fingertips. This solution also provided a facility with which the marketing department could distribute promotional materials in a timelier manner. A series of Outlook forms were created to display and navigate through a repository of related client data. Any associate that had contact with a client could contribute to the information repository. Responsibilities included defining requirements, architecting a design and developing the solution. Technologies employed included Microsoft Outlook, Exchange, Event Syncs, VBScript, SQL Server, Visual Basic 6 and ActiveX controls.
Global Actuarial Firm – Enhanced and maintained an application used to market retirement packages. The client had a need to graphically display information about a variety of retirement packages based on the criteria entered by the actuarial consultant. Custom controls were created, implementing third party controls, and were displayed dynamically for capturing required information. The data for each plan was stored and manipulated in XML format. Technologies included Visual Basic 6, XML and ActiveX controls.
Paper Manufacturer – Developed a business-to-business website that allowed customer to order paper. This new solution helped streamline the ordering process by allowing customers to check stock and place orders on an as needed basis. The site utilized JSP to generate the presentation layer and EJB was employed for accessing data in an Oracle database.
Cellular Service Provider – Developed custom multiple tab Outlook form that allowed help desk tickets to be generated for this telephone service provider. A new solution was needed to replace a system that was difficult to use and provided limited functionality. The established workflow required the application to route e-mail notifications to all approving parties. The workflow also contained a complex validation process that required the solution to access information in other public folders. The enabling technologies of Outlook and VBScript provided the perfect balance of functionality and maintainability required by this client.
Investment Corporation – Created a solution that allowed this investment corporation to host its own website since several maintenance issues existed with the hosting arrangement that was in place. The goal of this project was to create a site that could be hosted and maintained by company staff.
