As a senior java developer, I have functioned in team environments for over seven years. I have mentored junior programmers, collaborated with teams on several integration projects, and I have worked with many levels of management and clients to deliver solutions through the entire software development lifecycle. My goal is to keep writing code and continue to improve my software design and architecture skills with the latest technologies available while improving my teamwork and leadership to those around me.
My forte would be java/jee5/j2ee work. I hold a certification for programmer of the java2 platform. I acquired this back in 2000. Since then, I have worked on each version of jdk save for maybe 1.0 that I did some applet work with a long time ago. I have worked for several large companies and I have done small projects on the side to in the past.
I strive to bring good design and high code maintainability together when I write programs for other people. Complex problems are something that I relish. I prefer backend work starting at the controller level in mvc frameworks down to the database/persistence level.
I am mainly looking for some side work to augment my main job. In my current position, I am working on the project that will front user registration for Dream Home for Scripps Networks. This will demand high concurrancy and avialability.
I have worked on several different kinds of application servers *except weblogic*. I have done work on most major mvc frameworks other than JSF. I've had no major need to use this yet. I do have a desire to learn wicket at some point.
I work well alone or in team environments. I like to obtain chunks of functionality that need to be coded up and plugged in, or I can set up your environment and get other folks up to speed on using that project environment. I can be quite flexible on how all that goes.
I'm very honest and down to earth. If you give me reasonable specification, I can come up with a reasonable estimate for project completion. The number of hours that I can devote to your project is determined by hourly rate, type of work, and timeline desired.
I can provide references for my work. I do not have any websites that can be viewed (they don't allow them here anyways), but I have actively contributed to the e-commerce sites for Paiva, Finish Line, and now I am going to be rolling a major project out for Scripps.
