Work Terms

Payment terms and methods: Bid (estimate for finished job) or hourly/per-page (for open-ended projects or those in early/rough stages)
Bid: This is my (and usually clients') preferred method for well-defined, short-term projects such as writing or editing an article, revising Web or print copy, or proofreading. Upon reviewing the job specifications, content, and deadline(s) I deliver a bid that will hold firm unless the client substantially changes any of these aspects. In the event of such a change I discuss the new terms with the client, amend the bid as needed and, upon client approval, proceed with the work under the new terms.
Hourly/Per-page: This method works better for longer texts, early/rough drafts, and open-ended projects that may have several rounds of review and revision.

Communication: By email always; by phone if needed, though job and other details are best left to email so I can refer to them as needed.

Availability: Usually immediate, but please check first.
