Highlights
|
I am a talented savant with very strong problem solving skills. I also have the mental capacity and technical skills to develop complete enterprise grade software solutions by myself in under 60 days. This includes every step of the software project life cycle from analysis, design, development, testing all the way to deploying live. I also provide ongoing support for most of the software applications I've built over the years.
I believe in the principle of, "I would rather write software that writes software, then write software". In everything I do I am always looking for ways to never have to do the same thing twice. This mindset is what has allowed me to develop a powerful software stack that let's me build out entire web-based software applications without writing much code. This is how I am able to build very complex and high value web based software applications very quickly.
I am currently working with one of the largest insurance companies in the country to develop a custom web-based enterprise software application to streamline their broken business processes. The budget for this project is $750K+ and I am the only person on this entire project. I am performing every role from project management, business analyst, technical analysis, cost-benefit analysis, technical designs, UI designs, ERD modeling, data modeling, software development, testing, deploying, and providing support. I bring this up simply to give you an idea of my capabilities.

With more than 15 years experience building web-based applications I have a proven formula for success. In the past I have worked on fixed price and hourly (T&M) based projects and have found that their are pros and cons with each. So, I've combined the two into my own formula which makes it the best of both worlds for both the client and the developer.
The problem with fixed price contracts is the entire project has to be designed up front and completely spec'd out which never ever happens. No matter how hard you try to capture everything up front, I've found that you always missing something. So, it doesn't make sense to try and lock yourself into a box which is what happens under a fixed price contract.
So, the way I like to manage software projects is by performing enough analysis on the requirements to understand the project and break it up into manageable bite-size components. Then, I provide high-level estimates for each component. Then, if you like the estimates and we move forward with the contract, the next step is I perform detailed analysis sessions on each module. This time is billed hourly. Then, once the analysis is complete I will prepare a formal statement of which includes a break down of the tasks for the module and a fixed price estimate to develop that specific module. If you like the estimate we can proceed under the fixed price. If not, you have the right to decline the SOW. We then repeat this process for each component until we are done.
