I enjoy the process of researching and writing about a variety of topics. My passion is history. I write academically about the past but like to add a personal side the story, as I feel this makes the past more real for the reader.
I am also interested in running, nutrition, hiking and lost homemaking skills. I am currently writing a book about my experiences in running each day along on old railroad grade near my home.
I am willing to reach outside of my areas of expertise and learn about a variety of topics and ideas that may differ from my own.
I currently write a blog about various aspects of history that I stumble onto and find interesting. Each post is between 400-700 words.

Additional Skills:	I was employed as a writer for the Boise State University Alumni Office Focus Magazine. My responsibilities included gathering and compiling information from graduates regarding their current employment. After acquiring the need facts, I compiled it into entries for the "Alums in Touch" section of the magazine. I have worked as a computer teacher for children at a educational summer camp, where I introduced students to the use of computers, word processing and keyboarding. I have also worked on projects for a Jr. High School biology and ecology courses. Here I wrote handouts, labs and study helps for each course and updated them as needed. I also taught a Parenting Course at a nearby college where I instructed young children and guided their parents to participate in the class as well as teaching the parents twice a month for an evening class. I wrote all of my own texts and handouts which where used in this course.

Work Terms

In conducting business, I can be contacted by email, phone or Skype, mainly in the mornings - 900-1200 PST. However, I check my email and phone messages regularly and will be able to get back to you with any question or concerns in a timely manner. At times I may be unavailable on the weekends.
