The project was a web application that consisted of over 160 source files and over 500,000 lines of code all completed by myself alone. I tested all of the pages against a large list of web application hacking methods such as XSS and SQL Injection to ensure the safety of my clients business as well as their data. The web app was an ecommerce website for a client with an extensive business management backend. The site had over 40,000 products for which I created a CMS from which the client was able to make changes to images, content, prices, discounts, availability... The client was a reseller for hundreds of vendors and used images from vendor websites to showcase many items. To overcome the issue of vendor supplied images I wrote a routine to screen the URLs in the CMS on save, if they were non-local the routine downloaded the image to a directory on the server to prevent bad image links if the vendor changed their website. The backend was supported by an MS SQL database I designed as well as wrote the SQL stored procedures and triggers. The backend was designed with multi-level authentication keeping administration separate from sales and accounting each with their own set of authorized screens and functions. The backend consisted of modules designed to manage invoicing, payments, purchase orders, order entry, employee commissions, and user settings. Highly adaptive filtering on reports provided easy navigation of massive quantities of data. All... cont. in "Work Terms"

..continued from "Highlights" - All invoices, purchase orders, and quotes were made available for print by means of ASP.NET generated content converted to PDF document to allow employees to fax & email documents if needed. As an added feature for the site a monthly product catalog was made available for download to review and print. The catalog was generated by clicking a button “Generate Product Catalog” this event in short queried the database pulling 50 random product categories and 10 random products from each category. A single webpage was created for each category with 10 products per page using CSS formatted for print. Each page was converted to PDF via 3rd party component and flattened into a single multi page PDF document. The document was then saved in a directory on the server becoming a successive volume in the catalog collection. During the generation of the catalog the categories and products are audited in a database table and checked against in the creation of a catalog to ensure no duplicate categories and products are used in 5 sequential volumes. Credit cards were accepted through the site; I spoke with the client’s merchant account service provider and obtained the API for the payment processing system. I programmed functions in the backend to allow employees to utilize the merchant account to process credit card sales over the phone as well as live online help.
