Safe Pay seems to be the standard for these types of transactions.
Communication is always up to the client. I really dont have a preference. Email or IM is the easiest initially, but when getting to the confirmation stage of a project, phone is usually the best. Again, whatever the client wants.
Hours of availability are very loose with me. I'm always available. That's the nature of this business.
