Work Terms

I require a signed contract/statement of work before any work begins, usually with a non-refundable deposit of 15-25%. All deliverables must be clearly stated in the statement of work.
(It's very common in this business to deal with clients who don't know exactly what they want, but who nevertheless want a project rate. This exposes me to great liability if the client keeps changing his/her mind and expects me to perform changes under the original fixed cost. Therefore I require either a fixed set of deliverables or an ongoing hourly rate. The goal is to deliver a great product to you, at a price that is fair to us both.)

For large projects I usually request some sort of interim payment as well, when a certain set of milestones has been reached. Full ownership of source code I've developed is not transferred until final payment is received.

I guarantee all code that I develop to be free of defect and to perform as mutually agreed and will fix all reported and reproducible errors free of charge so long as my code is not modified in any way.

I strongly prefer to work with a single point of contact so as to streamline communication and make sure that all client requests have been vetted before they come to me.
