Highlights

My knack for resourceful problem solving makes my insight into the process of web building unique. I began developing when I was 19 years old for a regional ISP in Massachussetts. After showing competency by automating a major manual task within the company, I was promoted to web developer which was like being a junior developer. Though web development in '98/'99 was no bed of roses, it was not considered as 'sexy' as coding C components for server operations. Working closely with a solid DBA and an even more solid old school C coder, I learned excellent techniques and study skills which I have carried with me to every position I've had. I am a natural at web building and my talent for learning new material quickly makes my ramp up time negligible when absorbing technologies I am not too familiar with.

My real talent is my creativity. I consider web building a perfect merging of science and art. The web is full of components, processes, data, and logical application of standards. Its a highly scientific system, but, its also a tremendous creative medium. In the same way that press geeks used to love printing books in the Victorian days, I enjoy building websites in the same way.

Small to medium sized projects, I can offer a full range of understanding and experience when it comes to the web. I know its supporting technologies like DNS, and I know its server mechanics and protocol standards. If thats not a wide enough range I can also bang out a slick logo.

Work Terms

I prefer email and IM communication, preferring phone conversations for review meetings. I find that phone time is a discipline myself and some others possess, but there are those who speak in riddles and talk in circles.

I generally try to work out a schedule that is harmonious with the client. Since my work is based around them, I like to be awake when they need me awake and on task during the times they need me on task.
