ideally, skype should be used to come to terms re: payment for services. i require a concise description of what is to be done, any images the client wants included in the site should be sent to me ... i can handle image formatting if necessary. most important requirement is that the project needs to be clearly outlined so that i have a clear template to work from. any additional work the client requests after the initial coding is completed will be considered extra development and the client and i will have to come to terms as to the additional costs.
id like to avoid situations where the client asks for a specific job to be done, then when its finished he looks at it and says 'well i want to change this or that'.
i require at 40% of the jobs cost to be deposited prior to my starting work, another 40% when the job is about 3/4 completed, and balance upon completion. this ensures that there will be no issues re: payment for my time. id like to be able to stay in touch with the client during the entire development process to ensure that he or she is getting what they asked for.
