DOPEHOUSE RECORDS
DopeHouse approached me mid last year to market the new album from their main artist South Park Mexican who is currently serving a 40 year jail sentence. The challenge is how do you sell a CD in a MP3 dominated worlds with an artist that will not be available to tour or do any type of promotional events. Just using Social media sites (ning, imeem, myspace, youtube, lulu, myxer, facebook, widgets, etc) we were able to build a 14K member community and enough buzz to land the new album #5 on the Billboard hip hop charts right between two multi-million dollar acts (The Game and Lil Wayne). Our album promo widget alone was posted to over 300 blogs and myspace sites within 2 months.
