My tool of choice for websites is a Content Management System (Joomla, DNN, WordPress) - if it makes sense to the client. Websites developed using a CMS are developed quickly and are often a lessor expensive option.

I have a lot of experience with graphic design and I know what looks good on the web. I am also experienced in the User Interface and know how pages and data should flow through a website so the user has the absolute best experience possible.
It is always important to understand what the customer wants and needs to exceed their expectations. I take the time up-front to really understand the website that you need for it to be effective. Everything is important - the graphical look, the page flow, the size, the field order - when building a website. I make sure that all of these points are completed with the highest of quality.
Project Management:
I was a technical project manager for large corporation software projects for 10 over years. I know how to work with customers and how to manage software projects to completion. I know how to manage scope and make sure that projects are done within the scheduled time and budget with the highest of quality. |

Communication:
I like to have the requirements for the website largely defined upfront within reason. I document the requirements review them with the client over a shared location, such as Google Docs.
I am available by email and cell phone.
Payment Methods:
I ask for escrow payments of half of the cost of the estimated job up front. After successful completion of an initial job, I am happy to work on trust and invoice through Guru.
