I have been an Systems administrator / Network Engineer (whatever you want to call it) for about 20 years. I started in my own business in 1992 in Fremont Ca, I sold that and went into consulting where I honed my skills in some very large environments. I have worked mainly with Microsoft products over the years. And for the last 4 years I have spent at least 70% of my time working with messaging systems (mostly Exchange), Active Directory and Data Archiving Products like Mimosa and Enterprise vault. Along the way I picked up some serious scripting skills as well.
I left the consulting section in 1999 and went to work for a medium sized Bio-Tech company in Santa Clara, Ca. They went from about 250 people when I started to more than a thousand in about 2 years. I learned some very big lessons about IT and computing infrastructure growth and how to put scalable system together during my time there. I stayed there till 2005 when I moved to a Medical device company that was also on the move and growing rapidly. Currently I am consulting. My primary focus is data archiving systems and in fact I am a Symantec Authorized Consultant (ASC certified) and have deep experiance in Design , implementation, maintenance and migrations of Data archiving systems.

Payment
I work only with employers that transact through SafePay Escrow which better ensures both parties’ protection and satisfaction should disputes arise.
I require a minimum of 2 hours for any hourly based work or project including design and architecture guides and Visio's
Communication
I prefer to communicate by phone or e-mail initially. Once we have established a working relationship we can use IM as well. The frequency of our communication will be determined at the beginning of the project and based on the type of project.
Although my work schedule is very flexible to meet the demands of the customer I do prefer that phone communication happen within my time zone – PST during standard business hours.
General Availability
I prefer remote work and have in fact implemented some large (5000+ seat) Email and Archive systems around the world all remote.
That said I can be very flexible and will work most any time, I am best contacted in the morning and complete much of my work in the mid afternoon to evening. I will work weekends also.
