Dr. Julie Norman is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP), HR generalist, professional educator, trainer, consultant, and proven leader with over 20 years’ experience in public administration with emphasis on recruitment, expansion and retention of business and industry.
After several years serving in leadership positions in education and economic development, she was promoted to lead the state agency responsible for all workforce development efforts. Her career has entailed working with hundreds of businesses and nonprofit organizations, developing strategic plans and business plans, creating marketing and branding campaigns, grant writing, budget management, financial reporting, public relations, staff training, and public speaking throughout the country.
Dr. Norman has also served as Assistant Professor of Business and Economics at the University of Charleston where she taught Economics, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Sales, and Entrepreneurship to undergraduates, as well as a module on Leadership, Innovation and Change in an Executive MBA program.
In addition to her tenure in government and higher education, Dr. Norman has also owned and operated her own training and consulting firm, Julie Norman Associates, LLC since 2005. In that capacity she has trained thousands across the country in areas pertaining to economic and workforce development, leadership and strategic planning.
She received her doctoral degree from West Virginia University, her MBA and bachelor’s degree from Marshall University, and is also a graduate from the Economic Development Institute of the University of Oklahoma.
Work Terms
Availability: 1 - 80 hours per month
Hours: 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm Mon-Fri EST, and 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Sat-Sun EST
Rate of Pay: $30 - $125 per hour
