English Teacher and WordPress Guru
Welcome to my profile :) I'm a website developer and English teacher/tutor from Canada. I have a B.ED. as well as ESL accreditation (TESL Cert.).
If you are in need of a website or site re-design I can have things in place for you in a matter of hours including (if required) a domain name, hosting account and a fully functioning website. I can provide you with the most basic of websites or an advanced site with pretty much any option you can imagine.
I have 5 KEY goals in web development. From the very beginning of each project I aim to provide the client with:
1. a website with the best security features (to protect against hackers) and backup solutions;
2. a website that the client can maintain independently, ensuring there is never a need to pay someone for website maintenance/updating content.
3. optimized SEO (search engine optimization) code to increase search engine ranking;
4. responsive design that optimizes proper display on various devices and screen sizes (mobiles and handhelds);
5. screencast tutorials on how to update and maintain your (specific) website. You will be able to use the screencasts to help guide you through processes and pause/continue whenever you need to.
I work with several Content Management Systems (CMS) including Wordpress, CMS Made Simple and Magento but have experience with many others as well.
I have quite a bit of experience in developing ecommerce sites and multilingual sites. I also have experience designing logos and web graphics.
For those who are not yet sure what they want for their website, I can guide you through the web design process and help you make good decisions with suggestions and examples.
For those who know exactly what they want I can work with or without an existing CMS (I can code HTML sites). I can also alter CMS themes, templates, stylesheets and plugins.
Work Terms
I work from home and my English is exceptional (both spoken and written) so communication is never a concern. Communication is important to me and I prefer discussing projects via telephone or skype, either during the work day or evenings.
Professionalism is very important to me and I am very reliable and competent. I am personable, friendly and enjoy helping others incorporate solutions into their website that meet their needs. My support is ongoing and does not end when your project is complete! If there are ever any issues with your website I will do my best to help you find solutions :)
