This option means that you have not posted a project on Guru.com. However, you connected with the Freelancer via the Quick Discussion Board.

The below instructions assume that you (1) post a project on Guru.com, and (2) received an online quote from the Freelancer you wish to hire.
How to award a project to a Freelancer
How to award a project to a Freelancer
You may award a project to more than one Freelancer, if you wish to hire more than one Freelancer for your project.
- Sign in to your Employer account.
- On the My Admin page, click the "Project Manager" link.
- Locate your project, and click its title.
- Click the Quote Folder (Invited, Not Invited, etc.) where the desired Freelancer is located.
- Next to the Freelancer's information, click the "Award Project" button.

- Scroll to the bottom of the page. Click the checkbox if you wish to "Stop the bidding" for your project.
- Click the "Award Project" button.
- We automatically move the Freelancer's information to the "Selected Pro(s)" folder. In addition, you will see a confirmation message "Project Award - Sent."

What happens after sending a Freelancer a Project Award
- After you click the "Award Project" button, Guru.com immediately sends an email to the Freelancer. We ask the Freelancer to accept or decline the project.
- If the Freelancer accepts the project, you will receive a "Project Award - Accepted" notice by email and via online alert.

- If the Freelancer declines the project, you will receive a "Project Award - Declined" notice by email and via online alert.
If you wish, you can award this project to another Freelancer who submitted a quote for your project.
- If the Freelancer does not accept or decline the project, you may want to cancel the Project Award you issued to the Freelancer.

How to cancel a Project Award
If the Freelancer has not accepted the Project Award yet:
- Sign in to your Employer account.
- On the My Admin page, click the "Project Manager" link.
- Locate your project, and click its title.
- Under the "Selected Pro(s)" tab, click the "Cancel" button.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page. Select a Cancelation Reason, and click the "Cancel Project Award" button.
- You will see a red confirmation message "Project Award - Canceled."
If the Freelancer already has accepted the Project Award:
- In writing, terminate the project via the Private Discussion Board.
- Contact Guru.com. Please list your Project ID and the Freelancer's Profile ID or screen name in your message.
- We will confirm the termination with the Freelancer, then cancel the Project Award.
- If the Freelancer disputes the cancellation, we will try to assist in resolving the dispute.

Here are your next steps to transact safely with the Freelancer.
- Post an Invitation Only project. (Learn how)

The above instructions assume that you:
1. Connected with the pro you wish to hire directly from the search pages (using the Quick Discussion Board), and
2. Have not posted a project yet.

Ask the Freelancer to upload an online Project Agreement to outline project deliverables and timeframes.
2. Transact using SafePay
