Improvements Coming to Invoice Auto-Pay (1)

Our payment system upgrades are just around the corner! One notable change is to how invoice auto-pay works. If you have a verified payment method on file, invoices you receive will automatically be funded and paid following the terms in your agreement.

How Invoice Auto-Pay Will Work:

When you receive an invoice, we check your SafePay balance. If SafePay is fully funded, the invoice will be automatically paid at the agreed-upon time (7, 14, or 28 days after invoicing).

If SafePay is not fully funded, we will charge your verified payment method to fund SafePay at the time of invoicing. Then we will automatically issue the payment to your guru at the agreed-upon time.

If you need more time to review work before paying, you can delay auto-pay, or start a dispute to cancel the payment completely.

Look for this and other payment system updates to be live on Oct. 12th.

    Hi Guru ,
I most certainly look forward to the new chances that will be fore coming . I hope that the new changes are better fro both Clients and freelancers . In th east I had avoided using Guru Because of all the obstacles the there seemed to be for freelancers to work and get paid.

I would submit bids to work on projects and then 3 or 4 months later someone would contact me about working . As a one man shop i can’t afford to wait 4 months to work

How much time do i have for reviewing the work? 7, 14, or 28 depending on agreement? What if i find a bug on day 8, that is 1 day after auto-pay?

      Hi Anu,
Yes, you have 7, 14, or 28 days from the time you receive the invoice until it is paid, unless you delay auto-pay or cancel it by disputing the invoice.

When you say you will automatically charge verified payment method for safepay funding, if the employer has fund in their cash account, will you first grab fund from there or you will always charge their verified payment method?

This will be helpful when we edit and ongoing agreement and employer is refunded for unlocked fund.

    Please let me know.

What is the exact time, you actually release these funds to the Freelancer on the agreed date? It’s a bit confusing, as someone can expect to be paid at a certain date, but when they look in their cash account they would see that there are still no funds.
