      Hi Sajeesh,
You just need to verify your PayPal account for use on Guru.com. You’ll notice if you try to withdraw funds to PayPal, you’ll be asked to sign in to your PayPal account and opt in to the Billing Agreement. This takes just a few seconds and also gives you access to membership auto-renewal and one-click payments.

Anna, I don’t think you understand the problem here. If you withdraw funds to paypal you are asked to sign in and confirm billing address but at the same time it will ask fro your credit or debit card info. The debit I use is under my wife’s name and it doesn’t accept the card. The old withdrawal method is better since we already have the card info on our paypal account.

      Hi Krishnateja,

You can still withdraw funds to PayPal, you just need to verify it for use on Guru.com.

Why is paypal deducting a fee for withdrawing funds? Previous method was better.

      Anshu,

We do not charge you a fee to receive payment via PayPal. PayPal may charge you fees depending on the transaction. Please read PayPal’s user agreement for more information. You can read more about transaction fees here.

I went to withdraw funds from Guru to PayPal and I had to authorize Guru on PayPal. No problem there, but instead of my expected payment date being tomorrow (Friday the 16th) as it should be it’s Wednesday the 20th. Why do I have to wait almost a week for a PayPal transfer?

Hi Justin, this is a known issue and we are working on it. You should actually receive your payment today.

I am having the same issue. I authorized for Paypal 10/22 after already waiting 5 days for funds to clear. Now it is asking for me to wait another 5 days. If it is just a problem with Paypal, is there a way for me to cancel that and use Payoneer?

I have spent the past hour trying to pay via PayPal. I’ve never run into a system like this. It asks for username and password, then all your credit card details, then tells you that you can’t use the card. I am baffled and annoyed.

    Anna,

I had registered my paypal id with guru and have withdrawn money earlier through that paypal id. Now it is saying I do not have a transfer method added. What happened to the earlier registration of my paypal account?

When I try to add paypal now, it is asking me credit card account. Why do you need my credit card account?

Hi Swapna–we changed the way you can use PayPal (we expanded its usefulness) and you have to re-add PayPal and accept a new agreement. That should be all you need to do.

Does adding credit card / Debit card details make my bank account vulnerable for any unknown transactions by guru. Or any kind of membership fees monthly or yearly.

I certainly dont want that. I already pay 8.95% service charge to guru on every invoice

Hi Lokesh–make sure you do not enable auto renewal of your membership. Beyond that, we do not initiate transactions on behalf of you.

    Hi Jake,
I want to add paypal as my withdrawal method.

However, whenever I login to paypal through Guru withdrawal method adding step, paypal asking for credit/debit card which I do not have.
I only have paypal account, but without any credit/debit card.

My suggestion is: Can guru.com makes a paypal withrawal method registration easier, which is using only paypal email address, without asking for paypal credit/debit card etc.

I do not mean any offense the finance management, but I think many people having problem registering their paypal withdrawal method in guru.com.
I really wish you guys could consider this matter.

    Thanks you!
    Best regards.

Please let me know how the project payment works, once a prospective client decides to award you the project. I have a paypal account and would like to use it to receive payments from the client. How do i ensure that the payment comes into this paypal account. I am from India and would like to know the different payment methods, the payout time and the cost (charges) associated with each.
    Thanks
    Rama
