Audio restoration and remastering is my religion. I also love to do complicated audio digitization work, especially from old and damaged reel-to-reel (spool) tapes and 78 rpm records.

My broad area of expertise is in the audio recording, editing, mixing, and mastering of traditional and commercial Indian music.

I have specialized in restoring and remastering very old and damaged audio recordings, especially of Indian classical and Bengali music, from vintage analogue 1/4” reel-to-reel and cassette tapes as well as 78 rpm records.

I have a wide range of analogue and digital playback equipment in his personal audio studio which includes a Teac A-6300 reel-to-reel recorder, Akai GX-400D reel-to-reel recorder, Teac W-890R cassette recorder, Luxman PD-272 turntable with Ortofon 2M Red and 78 stylii, Tascam US-144mkII digital audio interface, and Canopus ADVC 110 digital video interface.

On my own initiative, I had approached many classical musicians and music collectors of Kolkata to voluntarily digitise their collections of audio recordings. Such gentlemen included Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta, Mr. Prattyush Banerjee, and Mr. Rantideb Maitra.

During my tenure at Saregama India Limited (HMV) from 2000 to 2011, I had recorded and extensively edited numerous classical album recordings for many artistes including Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta, Pandit Kushal Das, Shubha Mudgal, Arshad Ali Khan, Kaushiki Chakravarti, Parthasarathi Desikan, Sandipan Samajpati, and Purbayan Chatterjee.

I had the privilege of recording new commercial releases of artistes such as
Manna Dey, V. Balsara, Pandit Ajoy Chakravarti, Bickram Ghosh, Kumar Sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthi, Sawan Dutta, Casini's Division, and Supersonics.

Aside from sound recording being my profession, it has also been my greatest passion since my very early childhood. Born and brought up in the United States, he had voluntarily taken up the task of recording concerts by the most leading artistes of the time whenever they visited his hometown since 1981 when he was 9 years old. Such artistes included Pandit A.T. Kanan, Pandit Ajoy Chakravarti, Suchitra Mitra, Feroza Begum, Subinoy Roy, and Supriti Ghosh.
