Medical writer and educator

Hi! I am Ana, and I am a medical and scientific writer with 15 years of experience in the life science industry. My focus is communicating complex topics into simple ideas with the art of storytelling, clear graphs and designs, and evidence-based information. I am a scientist by training, currently based in Italy, with other work experience in Brazil and Germany.

I am a PhD in medical biochemistry with a therapy focus on metabolism, neuroscience, and rare diseases, particularly mitochondrial diseases. Since 2022, I have been part of the editorial team of the European research community. In 2023, I acted as a science ambassador for eLife, and I launched RADI, a monthly newsletter non-profit initiative to raise rare diseases’ awareness and shed light on the rare disease community.
