Professional Literary and Academic Editor
I am a professional editor holding a doctoral degree in Editorial Studies from Boston University, where I have also taught College Writing and Argumentation. I am also an independent historian, author of a book (*Under the Sign of Contradiction: Mandelstam and the Poltics of Memory*, Peter Lang, Oxford, 2021), and literary journalist with a portfolio of publications in literary, scholarly and popular periodicals.
As an editor, I am experienced in a variety of literary, professional and academic genres: essays, articles, book manuscripts and proposals, dissertation-to-book-conversions, literary nonfiction, fiction and memoir. I offer comprehensive editorial services, from brainstorming and conceptualizing an idea to developmental editing to copy-editing and proofreading. I am equally happy to take on shorter pieces of work and book-length projects requiring a substantial commitment. My particular strengths are in working with 'big ideas' and texts that are conceptually and stylistically demanding.
I work with individuals and organizations alike. My past clients include students and leading academics, international scholars, authors, publishers (Brill, Faber & Faber, Peter Lang) and institutions (Editorial Institute at Boston University, T. S. Eliot Estate). I have revised articles, formulated proposals, copy-edited book manuscripts, translated books into English, to name some of the pertinent experience.
I am efficient, effective, and courteous. You can expect me to listen to your needs, understand them, and address them expertly, assuring uncompromising quality. I work in both American and British English.
