About Us

Atkins Translation Services provides multiple types of language services which include interpretation, translation, localization, editing, and proofreading. We specialize in working with individuals, small and mid-size businesses. The agency was founded in 2014 by Jeremy Atkins. Jeremy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and an MBA in Management.
How it Works

When we receive a request for new services, we immediately post the project onto multiple freelance websites in order to receive bids from qualified linguists. After carefully reviewing the candidate's qualifications and rates for the service, we hire the linquist as a contractor to perform the work. Once the work is completed to the client's satisfaction, Atkins Translation Services will deliver the completed project to the client.

Work Terms

Rates

$.10 cents (US dollar) per source language word (minimum $20 charge) - basic and non-complex translations

$.17 cents (US dollar) per source language word (minimum $20 charge) - complex/technical translations

How Our Translation Rates Are Calculated:

Our translation rates are on a per-word basis. The words in the document to be translated are counted, and that count is multiplied by the agreed-upon per-word fee plus our agency fee.

In some languages, such as Japanese, characters, rather than words, are counted because there is no space in between words.

If German is the source language, we will negotiate a line rate for the translation. German normally contains many word compounds rather than words which can become rather lengthy. In order to determine the line count, a fixed number of characters per line will be charged.
Our Translators

We post all translation jobs onto various freelance translator sites (such as oDesk) in order to solicit bids from translators. Before offering the project to the translator, we negotiate their rate for the project. The final negotiated rate will include the translator's rate we agreed to in addition to our agency fee (15% over the translator's rate)

Example: The translator requests a rate of $.10 per source language word in a document of 25,000 words. The translator's final charge equals $2,500. Our agency fee of 15% would be $375. The final charge to the client would be $2,875.00.

Atkins Translation Service offers a 10% discount off of projects of 30,000 words or more. We also offer a 15% discount for repeat customers.
