About

High quality realistic and impressionistic custom oil and acrylic paintings produced quickly at low cost!

Curtis Bard is known best for creating imagery that lies somewhere between the realistic and the impressionistic. On his canvas, clear idealistic representation often fades into the ambiguous and abstract. The edges present the stark truth of paint etched onto fabric. Conversely, the focus pulls the viewer in by displaying the full expression of the subject. Brush stokes appear nonfigurative close up. But from afar, those brush strokes materialize into concrete and detailed forms.

Curtis acquired his passion for art as a child. He loved all art - drawing, painting, and music. His passion continued through high school and college and earned him multiple awards. During his college years, he focused greatly on his music. Sitting in the practice rooms of the music department at Hanover College, he spent hours dissecting classical orchestral music. He studied the notation structures of pieces by composers like Beethoven, Wagner, and Tchaikovsky. Continual study nurtured his talents, and by the time he graduated college, he was a professional pianist. He enjoyed a permanent place as a lounge pianist at Hilton Hotel and Von Maur, and he performed often for weddings and local nightclubs. His music played on the radio, and he won several music composition contests.

Curtis eventually decided to pursue a career in law. He earned his doctorate of jurisprudence at the Indiana McKinney School of Law. After law school, he worked as a law clerk and wrote court opinions for judges in both state and federal court. With his law license, he eventually went on to practice tort law and is now teaching as a professor.

Despite his life as a musician and an attorney, Curtis maintained a passion for visual art.
