I am a boundary-pushing public health and arts education professional dedicated to culturally responsive teaching and media integration. As an activist educator holding both a BA in Cinema Studies and a Masters in Community Health Education, I delight in connecting theory and community. I’ve been called many things: sexual health educator, media theorist, program evaluator, community organizer, and social sciences researcher. All are correct because I don’t put my passions in neat little boxes.
I bring access and agency to communities in the areas of health, arts, media, and education through:
---Grant Writing: Connecting to foundations and individuals to nonprofits is step one in any process so that capacity can be built and that programs can be stable.
--- Program Evaluation: By measuring what’s happening in a program, I can identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
--- Literature Review: Only by getting at the heart of the issue and bringing together resources can we design a program that solves the problem.
--- Curriculum Development: I incorporate learned skills and aptitudes of a community to build culturally responsive educational frameworks so learning becomes a participatory experience.
--- Community Organizing: Communities don’t need saviors. By equipping community leaders with techniques to organize organically, I support community self determination.
Work Terms
I am available as needed and as my schedule allows for clients. Prefer to work with clients who think outside the box, want to change the world collaboratively, and is available by email.
