An enthusiastic software professional with over a decade long experience in enterprise and mobile application development and a passion for innovative apps and games.
I have graduated from the university of Piraeus, department of Informatics. My dissertation dealt with implementing a 3D driving simulation aimed at helping new drivers to get accustomed to traffic rules. I later studied in UCL, London, where I obtained my MSc in Vision, Imaging and Virtual Environments. My field of specialization was transferring animated facial expression to static 3D face data. My next career step was a contract as a software engineer at BTExact in the Radical Multimedia Lab in Ipswich. That included working on features and demos for a 3D engine called TARA. When I returned to Greece, I continued to program for several companies, including Siemens S.A. While employed by the latter, I had the opportunity to work with a multi national team, that embraced agile methodologies, strived for extensive test code coverage and cooperated closely with the QA department. During company employment, I have been engaged in enterprise and web application development, in fields ranging from e-learning and civil engineer software, to traffic safety and European commission applications. As a freelancer, I have helped develop a number of iPhone and Android apps, like trumpit, a Snapchat type of application that among others allowed indefinite persistence of conversations, and My Mykonos App (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-mykonos-app/id1122224136?mt=8, iOS and Android) which displays all the events happening currently in Mykonos. Some of them were games; like my personal app, The Typist (iOS, https://itunes.apple.com/gr/app/the-typist/id470693374?mt=8), and Dr.Febius (iOS, https://itunes.apple.com/gr/app/dr.-febius/id935410610?mt=8), a flappy bird type platform game for which I added animations, special powers and alternative costumes. I have also been expanding my knowledge in android development by implementing features for the kwippit image messaging app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kwippit.android).
