I write to entertain, engage, persuade, convince and above all connect.

In my past, marketing, life I wrote newsletter, blogs, web copy, campaign briefs and copy for brochures, point of sale, signage, advertising, public relations and publicity. Since freeing myself from the daily grind I've added creative writing, magazine writing and travel writing to my skill set.

As Marketing Manager for ABC, Tasmania I created and ran campaigns to promote 936 ABC Hobart and ABC Northern Tasmania Radio and Online. That covered the whole gamut: content marketing, database management, advertising and signage, event management, competitions, partnerships, communications and publicity.

For the several years, within this role, I was the national publicist for Gardening Australia.

The opportunity to learn about the digital world and how to apply traditional direct marketing techniques to digital marketing.

In 2014, in the first radio survey since since 2002, 936 ABC Hobart was number one in Southern Tasmania by a whopping margin (see story below).
The re-branding of ABC711AM to ABC Northern Tasmmania 91.7FM - a survey carried out after this campaign showed the 98% of listeners recognised the new brand. The survey also pinpointed transmission issues which were resolved and told us how our audience wished to receive information about frequencies and emergency services broadcasting.

Winning the People's Choice in the ABC Spark Awards, voted by colleagues. The Spark Awards invited staff to put forward ideas to management - my idea was an Emergency Services Broadcaster app which pulled together location based services of ABC Local Radio, the Bureau of Meteorology and Emergency Services.er with my small team I created
