Renee Eli, Ph.D.

A+ Academic Editor with Ph.D.

An exceptional academic editor, my work is touted by clients as "the best," "exceptional," "creative," "visionary," "impeccable," "clear," and "highly recommended!" I provide comprehensive "turn-key" editing services for an international clientele of academic and medical researchers. These services include developmental (structural) and substantive line editing (stylistic), as well as technical editing and comprehensive copy editing. I am well-versed in multiple formatting styles, including APA, Chicago, IEEE, and MHRA. I also provide writing consultation for all stages of the writing–publication process across a wide spectrum of genres and academic disciplines.

While I work primarily with academic and medical researchers, I also enjoy working with seasoned, professional writers. Recent non-fiction collaborations include a prize-winning memoir and a best-seller. Academic collaborations include articles published in top-tiered peer-reviewed journals, book proposals and book-length manuscripts, dissertations, grant proposals, and conference proposals. I sit on several editorial advisory boards of academic and scholarly journals.

While I use editing software as a "second pair of eyes" in the final copy-editing/proofreading phase of a project, I do not rely on any software, because often these applications are wrong, particularly when stretching the rules in fine literature. I rely instead on accumulated knowledge and intuition gleaned from years of professional writing and numerous graduate-level writing courses with award-winning writers, such as Pulitzer Prize nominee, Susan Griffin, and the award-winning writers: Tommy Hayes, Holly Iglesias, and Pat Riviere-Seel. I have published works in academic and creative journals, and a book-length manuscript published in early 2016. I have a book-length manuscript in progress and ongoing collaborations with colleagues for articles in peer-reviewed journals.
