Professional graphics design, typesetting, writing, and editing services

Life has a systematic way of leading you to your intended path—providing you listen to its subtle suggestions.

I never really thought of myself as much of a writer. Yes, I dabbled in authoring stories and kept a journal, but it was nothing I ever considered as a living … until life led me in that direction.

When I went to university to earn my Masters in computer sciences. My programming skills were spot on. The programs worked without a hitch and were efficient. There was only one problem. The code logic was complicated and unorthodox. Its only saving grace was the documentation that proceeded each section of code. My instructor suggested I become a programmer writer instead of a programmer.

His suggestion led me to manage a team of 13 technical writers at Microsoft. I saw myself ascending the managerial ladder into an executive position. Fate, however, intervened. My editor was on medical leave, which meant I had to do all the editing for the team—a task I surprisingly enjoyed. Upper management noticed an improvement in documentation quality and gave me the title of senior technical editor.

Having grown tired of the technical industry, I decided to try my skills in the medical field, something that had always interested me. I went back to school to earn my doctorate in natural medicine. Six years later, I discovered no one wanted to take on a blind student as an apprentice. My husband Gregg, being the wonderful and supportive man he is, built me a medical clinic. What started out to be a small, quaint office, grew into a full-blown clinic with two doctors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, and a midwife. We discovered a need for written materials: marketing brochures, an SOP manual, employee handbook, etc. I assumed the task and found enjoyment in doing what felt right and natural.

Several years later, we sold our clinic and planned to retire. That lasted about three months. We still feel the need to contribute to society.
