Though I specialize as an editor for ESL or native English-speaking academic authors of graduate- or professional-level articles and abstracts, I welcome other genres and subjects.

I am an American-born, native English speaker with a BA in English, Master's-level post-graduate course work in English and more than 26 years' professional editing, writing, and proofreading experience. Though I specialize in copy editing English-translated academic articles for ESL professionals and students, I also work with native English writers in most genres.

AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION: Journal drafts, abstracts and articles in the fields of medicine, science and economics (others as well; please inquire).

I can use British-English or American-English and am proficient in Chicago and AP style, as well as various styles required for professional journals.

I accept Word documents only and will return your proofed copy (using tracked changes so you can see my edits) as well as a clean copy for your reading ease. I edit graphs, tables, bibliographies, footnotes, and references, but I do NOT format, fact-check or arrange these.

I correct and/or offer suggestions related to basic grammar, including style, tense, mood, consistency, flow, logic, accuracy, paragraphing, narrative, transition, and spelling.

I have worked with authors in the UK and America as well as Germany, China, Finland, Spain, Russia, France, Portugal, Japan, Singapore, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, New Zealand, South Korea, the UAE, Italy, Australia and Canada.

Work Terms

For our mutual benefit and protection, I will draft a brief contract outlining services and fees. I meet every deadline without question. Payment in full via PayPal or Guru.com is due upon 3 (three) days of completed, returned project.
