We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with experience in eCommerce to manage the financial operations of our small but growing business. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, familiarity with eCommerce platforms, and the ability to manage day-to-day financial transactions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and record daily financial transactions, including sales, expenses, and payments
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing
- Reconcile bank statements and payment gateways (e.g., Shopify, PayPal, Stripe)
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports and statements (e.g., profit & loss, balance sheet)
- Monitor and report on cash flow and ensure financial stability
- Assist with tax preparation, GST/VAT filings, and compliance with relevant regulations
- Manage inventory accounting, including cost of goods sold (COGS) and stock level monitoring
- Provide insights and recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably within an eCommerce business or startup
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, or Amazon
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate financial insights clearly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- At least 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably with eCommerce or retail businesses
- Knowledge of inventory management and reporting
- Understanding of international eCommerce tax regulations (if applicable)
