We have been designing and manufacturing electronic equipment since 1971 and have become a very forward and dynamic company, highly successful in many areas of health and safety with many products and new services including consultancy, training and instrument Hire.
Currently we have a cloud platform. This cloud platform allows users to store and manage measurement data, perform post processing functions, generate reports and host of other useful features relevant to health and safety.
We also use a separate PC application that allows users to upload their measurement data from our Instruments manually alongside allowing firmware updates to our Instruments. This PC application is expanding in functionality in the near future allowing users to access and manage their measurement data alongside some graphing features.
Recently we have launched our latest environmental noise monitoring kit. The kit is a self-contained system running from battery or mains with the option for a solar panel to be fitted allowing the instrument to be left running for months on end without human interference. The kit is able to remotely stream live data directly to the cloud via both Wifi and GSM Modem. This presents a new problem as to how users are notified of any disturbances, battery level warnings and custom alarms that a user may set regarding the instrument. Currently a user can receive emails as standard, indicating these limits have been exceeded. Users may also pay an additional fee to receive SMS alerts (although a limit is applied on the number of these alerts a user can receive in a day).
We propose that a mobile application should be developed to initially provide notifications from the Cloud. With the view to expand the functionality of the app further down the road in phased packages of work. As this app will link with the Cloud and will eventually perform many similar features to the PC application, the name of the Mobile Application should also match the PC application so as to promote consistency across our range of products. Therefore, all logos and colour schemes should match our PC application. The Mobile Application should also have the links to our various product and service sites, allowing the user an easy way of quickly accessing our resources.
The Mobile Application should work on both Android and IOS operating systems. And backwards compatibility with Android 9 – Pie (released 2018) and IOS 12 (released 2018) and onward should also be taken in to account.
