We are seeking an experienced Next.js developer to help finish a website for us.

Background

I have a website that is built in Next.js and pulls the content in from a self hosted Strapi CMS (using GraphQL) and there are a number of requirements that need finishing to go live. Due to work commitments I am struggling to find the time and so am seeking help from an experienced Next.js developer to do it. We need the work done and the website live this month.

The app is hosted on Vercel and deployed through Github. I can send a link to the development website upon request.

I would create a new Github branch for you to pull and push from, and a new Vercel branch so we can view the results and once satisfied merge it with the staging/live websites.

We use Asana project management system and all remaining tasks are in there. We have a set of tasks that are needed for go live, and that is what we need help with now. But after that, I am seeking for on going support to help manage this and other projects.

Please note: we have worked with other developers in the past who have not finished work to a suitable standard. Please only apply if you are confident you have good skills and will do a good job. Our company have been building websites for over 20 years and so we can determine quality of work.

This is will be a great opportunity because we are seeking long term partners to work on our projects and for ongoing support on websites.

Specific tasks needed are:

  • Double check the site fonts are correct and to the correct sizes etc. as the spec.
  • Setup redirects from the old URLs to any new ones. This includes file URLs. Our media is all hosted on Cloudinary.
  • We have embedded 3D interactive models, and we would our own animated logo to run on top of it when its loading, and then fade out when its finished loading - if possible!
  • Review and finish the design. There are some aspects that need tidying up and finishing to the design
  • Add a second menu in the footer. The menus are created in Strapi, then we pull the content into the website on build time.
  • Tidying up some issues. For example, sometimes certain things like the cart is not loaded until you refresh the page. I believe its to do with useEffect and other order of how Javascript works. I have probably have a few bugs in a few places, so tidy these up if need to.

There may be a few other tasks we will spot in due course before going live and so extras can be quoted for as extra if they come up.

I run a web development agency and this website is for a customer that operates internationally and so the site is multilingual, and includes products and categories and even an eCommerce section to buy products (but only in the US).
