Manufacturing Automation Programmer – Shakopee, MN

COKeM, a nationally recognized, value-added marketer and distributor is experiencing significant growth and is currently seeking a Programmer Analyst for this exceptional opportunity.  The Manufacturing Automation Programmer will be accountable for owning highly visible technology projects and process improvement efforts.  This individual will work primarily PLC but may also work with other programming languages including VB, SQL, .NET, and Microsoft Access to ensure systems are working properly as well as migrating to newer technologies.  A successful candidate will enjoy solving complex problems while investigating potential issues with hardware on the automated fulfillment system.  This individual will thrive working independently but also able to engage with business users for details, be experienced, self-starter, proactive, energetic, detailed oriented with a can-do attitude.



  • Own all aspects of our automated fulfillment system (Understanding, reverse-engineering, documenting, and improving) including the physical maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot issues and determine appropriate resolutions.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • Possess superior problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
  • 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • PLC knowledge is required.
  • VB experience is a plus
  • SQL Server experience is a plus.
  • .Net experience is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain the physical components of the automation equipment.
  • Possess a strong ability to manage detailed requirements and work well under pressure.
  • Possess a service-oriented demeanor with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to cope with a changing environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
