The Role:

Time: Part Time; 20 hours/week

Contract Length: 3 months; Possibility for extension

Reports To: Senior Manager, Outreach


The Salesforce Business Development Specialist will work with the Sr. Manager, Outreach and the Sr. Manager, Information Technology to update and streamline Salesforce and Business Application processes and workflows for REDF’s outreach function.


An example of some challenges that this specialist would feel comfortable solving:

  • An enterprise solution to de-duplication of organizations
  • An analysis and recommendation regarding Salesforce plug-in and integration tools
  • A recommendation for mass email and event management using Salesforce.


The Responsibilities:

  • Processes and Workflows: Assess and identify problem areas and bottlenecks in Outreach workflows. Propose solutions to challenges that align with REDFs overall Business Applications strategy. Implement any approved changes including upgrading workflows, adding new plug-ins, and managing any new integrations.
  • Reports and Visualizations: Create reports and visualizations with vital information regarding campaign cycles and all applicants. A solution would improve visibility into overlapping data points for better decision-making.
  • Email Client Integration: Integrate a recommended email client with Salesforce for automation and tracking. A solution would enable the creation of unique, engaging emails and the tracking of email metrics such as opens, bounces, and conversions.
  • Leads Segmentation and Tracking: Establish workflow for segmenting and tracking leads and conversion rates.


The Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience managing Salesforce software implementations and enhancements is required.
  • 3+ years’ experience performing business analysis and project management for application development and/or system implementations or enhancements, in a business operations environment, is required.
  • In-depth hands-on Salesforce experience establishing custom objects, performing database design, building reports and dashboards, loading data, implementing managed packages from the app exchange, building custom reports off of custom objects, and designing customizations to intelligently integrate with standard functionality is highly desired.
  • Proven track record of evaluating and selecting technology solutions is highly desired.
  • Experience working with nonprofits and/or social service organizations is strongly preferred.

Positions Location and Pay Range:

San Francisco or Los Angeles preferred; Remote arrangements considered. The hourly rate is $62.86 – $79.67 and reflects San Francisco and Los Angeles based placements. The range will be adjusted according to the candidate’s location.
