Key Responsibilities:
- QuickBooks Management: Maintain and update company financial records using QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Accounting & Bookkeeping: Handle day-to-day bookkeeping, including managing accounts payable and receivable, posting journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
- Collections: Oversee collections activities, ensuring timely receipt of payments from clients while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Controller Functions: Provide oversight of the company's financial systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and financial best practices.
- Cost Accounting: Track and analyze the costs associated with company operations and services, ensuring accurate cost allocation and reporting.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit & loss reports, offering insights to management for strategic planning.
- Financial Planning: Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, analyzing financial data to help guide the company’s financial decision-making.
- Payroll: Manage the processing of payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, and staying current on payroll tax requirements.
- Profit and Loss Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of profit and loss statements to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a small business or startup environment.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is essential.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost accounting.
- Experience with collections and managing accounts receivable.
- Ability to perform financial analysis and present data in a clear, concise manner.
- Familiarity with payroll processes and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
Preferred:
- Experience in the IT or tech industry is a plus.
