Role Description The Front End Operator is a remote, contract role responsible for supporting the organization’s day-to-day frontline digital operations. This includes handling incoming inquiries via phone, email, chat, or web forms; providing accurate information about services and programs; and directing individuals to appropriate resources. The Front End Operator will update and maintain basic front-end content (such as forms, announcements, and FAQs), ensure that user-facing information is current and clear, and escalate complex cases to relevant team members. The role also involves documenting interactions, tracking common issues, and collaborating with program and technical teams to improve user experience and access to services.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including clear written and spoken English and a professional, empathetic approach to diverse individuals.
  • Experience with front-line or customer-facing roles (e.g., call center, help desk, client services), including managing multiple inquiries and maintaining accurate records.
  • Comfort using digital tools and platforms such as web-based ticketing systems, CRM tools, email platforms, and online communication channels (chat, video conferencing).
  • Basic familiarity with websites and user interfaces, with the ability to follow simple content update procedures and report technical issues clearly to technical staff.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet response-time expectations, and work independently in a remote setting.
  • Commitment to nonprofit and community-focused work, with sensitivity to individuals from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in social services, communications, IT support, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, or community services environment is a plus.
