I provide comprehensive writing consultation and "turn-key" academic editing services for an international clientele of academic and medical researchers. These editing services include developmental (structural) and substantive line-editing (stylistic), as well as technical editing and comprehensive copy-editing. I am well-versed in multiple formatting styles, including APA, Chicago (in-text and notes), IEEE, and MHRA. In addition, I provide writing consultation for all stages of the writing–publication process across a wide spectrum of genres and academic disciplines.
I also enjoy working with seasoned, professional writers. Recent non-fiction collaborations include a prize-winning memoir and a best-seller. Academic collaborations include articles published in top-tiered peer-reviewed in multiple fields, book proposals and book-length manuscripts, dissertations and theses, grant proposals, and conference proposals. I sit on several editorial advisory boards of academic and scholarly journals.
I approach each writer in the same manner—with curiosity about the writer's topic and excellence in professional, albeit deeply personable, rapport.
I have studied with award-winning writers, such as Pulitzer Prize nominee, Susan Griffin, Tommy Hayes, Holly Iglesias, Ph.D., Allan Combs, Ph.D., Pat Riviere-Seel, and Gale Jackson. I have published works in academic and creative journals, and a book-length manuscript published in early 2016. I have a new book-length manuscript in progress and ongoing collaborations with colleagues for articles in peer-reviewed journals.
A scholar of consciousness research, my scholarship is transdisciplinary and spans diverse fields, including biology and ecology, philosophy, history of medicine and science, and history of philosophy. Finally, I have nearly three decades of experience as a healthcare provider and educator and am active in eco-contemplative education.
To writers who choose to work with me, I offer this: it is my view that good writing, no matter what genre, is thoughtful and thought-provoking. It has the capacity to change minds and transform lives, because the writing—well tuned—is experienced by the reader as an integrated whole. It both captures the mind and transcends it as a deeply personal experience of the heart. Writer is changed. Reader is changed.
