I am a bilingual (English/Dutch) translator that was born and raised in the Dutch Caribbean. I moved to the Netherlands at 19 where I studied and worked for 17 years. After that I moved back to to Curacao, where I worked for various international companies. When you look at my resume my language skills will probably not be the first thing you notice. That is mainly because during my career I have mostly utilized my language and writing skills as a tool rather than as the main competency. The internal language of some of the companies I worked for for example, is English but customers speak a variety of languages. This results in having to switch languages and translating constantly. This can be verbally or in text, ranging from short notes to complete RFPs. I am very used to communicating through modern media such as e-mail, Skype, Google Hangout and Webex.
