Constructs queries, DML, data transformations, and extractions by understanding and investigating existing database structures and data models within the enterprise.
•Meets with users and IT staff to understand system requirements.
•With no required supervision, creates automated solutions using established analysis and design methodologies.
•Designs, develops, and maintains extensions and customizations to and interfaces with existing enterprise applications.
•Supports complex report requests using stored procedures, functions, tables, views, indexes and constraints.
•Using SSRS builds and maintains data marts and data warehouse and executive dashboard.
•Coaches and mentors service desk staff on running automated scripts and queries.
•Reviews algorithms and code produced by vendors and recommends changes where appropriate
•Detects and troubleshoots issues related to SQL server, CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
•Manages backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, database clustering, mirroring, and replication.
•Manages indexes, integrity checks, configuration and patching for databases and applications.
•Supports application changes, implementations, and upgrades.
•Manages application versions, licenses, and instances.
•Documents and manages version control for stored procedures and queries.
•Adheres to industry SDLC principles and standards.
•Provides strategic solutions for recurring problems.
•Enforces IT standards and educates employees about compliance issues
•Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops in the assigned areas of responsibility.
•Attends meetings as required and participate on committees as directed.
•Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
