Illustrations can vary from a number of genres and styles, though I usually do manga themed work. These can be for books, CD album covers, and other things.
I always start with a pencil or charcoal drawing on paper. I then either ink the drawing with real pens, or scan it in to the computer and ink in painting software. After inking is complete work is either colored with acrylic or watercolor paint, pastels, colored pencils, or marker. Otherwise it is colored on the computer. Once base coloring is completed shading and special effects are added.
Progress images throughout all of these stages are sent to show progress and get feedback or approval.
Most illustrations take me six to twelve hours. Some extra fees may be added for research, test drawings, and possible 3D modeling for perspective and detail control.
