Check out my blog for various informative articles. You will even see how CAD is a powerful tool in Forensics such as the following article.http://blog.dakinedrafting.com/2012/04/vehicle-damage-and-its-importance-to.htmlhttp://blog.DakineDrafting.com
I came from a consulting background in which a high attention to detail was required under very short time constraints. I never missed a deadline. I consistently converted photographs to CAD files, usually dwg and dxf. I also created a lot of 3D models from photos using photogrammetry. I worked for 8 years in forensic accident reconstruction from which I made various 3D models for various types of simulations. The 3D models were polygon mesh and solid model parts/assemblies. I'm also an expert user in PC-Crash, a crash simulation program that uses dxf roadway shapes, vehicles and objects.
