Casey has a natural drive for perfection and successful solutions. His understanding of complex electro-mechanical systems stems from a long held interest in the way electrical and mechanical systems function and interact. This built a strong foundation for a lifetime of exploring scientific and engineering concepts. While earning his bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois, Casey took on several independent research projects with the mechanical, electrical and bio-medical engineering departments at the university. Casey continued with graduate studies at the University of Illinois in biomedical engineering.
He was then employed at the US Department of the Interior as a staff engineer. Casey left the USGS to move to Denver, Colorado, where for the last ten years he has worked as an electro-mechanical engineer in research and development of electro-mechanical systems, manufacturing, communications systems, information technology, and patent and prototype development.
