I have developed complete package for Optimizing Chemical (using Thermodynamics modelling) manufacturing process resulting in huge savings for the customer. In the Soda Ash mfg process (Solvay), the most critical phase is the carbonating towers where NH3 and Brine (NaCl) in liquid form flows from top and CO2 is pumped from bottom. A complex reaction takes place throughout the height of the tower (about 100 ft). Yield of the product (NaHCO3) which is taken out from the bottom (continuous process) along with 16 other components, is maximized by APCO by modeling (thermodynamically) and simulating this chemical and physical process and optimizing various parameters. Each of this parameters are interdependent and affect numerous aspects of the process critically.
