I have over ten years of experience writing and editing conducting research on issues related to women and children and sexual abuse with a diverse range of actors. I have excellent written and analytical skills and have experience in writing academic reports, journalistic articles as well as research reports. Some of that research includes the following, - Honors thesis written on the child soldiers of the Lord’s Resistance Army in northern Uganda. I focused on the cultural issues bringing children into war and how children are militarized within the Ugandan context. - Mini thesis written for Masters in International Development on sexual violence against women and girls in Haiti. - PhD thesis written on the militarization of child soldiers in the leftist guerrilla group the Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC). - I have written numerous research reports related to human rights related issues. - I have written numerous research reports related to human rights related issues based on projects conducted in Iraq, Afghanistan, Algeria, Madagascar, Mozambique, the Maldives, Burma, Thailand, Lebanon, Turkey, Senegal, the Republic of Congo. - Worked on editing numerous UN and NGO reports. - Published a number of articles related to including in the UN publication Pass Blue, The Guardian, The Huffington Post, Morocco World News and Independent Australia related to issues regarding violence against women. - Published book, ‘Militarized Youth: Children of the FARC.’
