I have been writing nearly all my life. Even before attending college, I had an extensive background in literature and creative writing. Higher education, as well as continuous self-education, have enabled me to develop my skills in nearly all areas of writing.
After college, I tutored English and writing in a private setting for over ten years. The instruction I provided ranged from the elementary school level to high school. Formal testing showed excellent results. In my free time I have written a historical romance, a fantasy, a horror book, and various short stories and articles. I have also written many children's books, from picture books (which I also illustrated) to full length mid-school level books.
Besides the above tutoring work, I also tutored for a real estate course. This was a challenging assignment, but I was able to produce satisfactory results for my client. As such, I now have a background in real estate matters and am familiar with the general practices of this discipline.
As a firm believer in continuing self-education, I have constantly expanded my knowledge in such diverse areas as science, gardening, self-help, pets, literature, history, and the arts. There are hardly any subjects that I do not find interesting.
I established my own craft business in the 1990s, selling handmade ornaments, banks,and art gourds. As such, my craft work has been featured in the New York Times, Good Housekeeping, and Country Business. My work has been sold to museums and historical societies as well as numerous private stores. At this point in life, I would like to return to my first love -- writing.
I live in northern Wisconsin, USA, in sight of Lake Superior. I am married and have one son. I am also a devotee of dogs, especially French Bulldogs, and currently own two (or more accurately, am owned by two).
