Developing an client server application to send and receive data, which is encrypted and then store it in a database in a sorted order.
Updated the utility SW. Right clicking on the SW icon on the taskbar will cause a server application to take a snap and send it to specific users and display them on their screen. This is used to monitor visitors.
Developed a dll that receives as input bytes from an app and performs statistical calculations and sends back a modified array of bytes. This dll was used to reduce noise from photographs.
Developed an app which waits on the LPT port for a particular signal and then takes a snap and stores it as a bmp on the HD.
Designed, developed, tested and deployed a COM based utilities software. This software is used by the company employees to write weekly status reports, which are then stored on the FTP site. The utility also prints out Requisition forms, Leave requisitions etc. It also contains a messaging app to send pop up messages and transfer files across the network. The utility also provided an UI for reading the reports or any files on the FTP server.
Created a Windows 2000 based LAN network for the company. Creating FTP sites and providing VPN access. Created user profiles for all the employees in the company using active directory.
Updated/ changed the previous version of the products depending on user feedback.
Role:
·Involved in Debugging and Development of the applications.
·The applications were developed using VC++ 6.0 and Object space.
·The applications use Windows sockets.
·Win 32 APIs have been used for Registry handling, creating mutex, setting printers, multithreading etc.
·Proper error handling.
·Error reporting to log file and application log.
This product runs on Win CE machines and adds security to the machines. It is a theft prevention application that locks up the system if the system is stolen.
Role:
·Involved in Architecture, Design, and Development of the entire system.
·The applications were developed using Embedded VC++ 3.0.
·The application used Windows sockets to get the time from a server.
·Win 32 APIs have been used for Registry handling, creating mutex etc.
·Proper error handling.
·Error reporting to log file.
Desktop Monitor
Involved in Architecture, Design, and Development of a client/server application, using sockets, to control student laptops. The main application called Desktop Monitor runs on the teacher laptop. This application gets a list of students, in the teacher’s class, from the company web site. The server application receives the user name of a student from the teacher and looks up the corresponding IP address from the Security log on the Domain controllers. Student information is stored in an MS Access database. The teacher has options to blank out the screens and setup printers on the student machine. The application also runs in a stand-alone mode where the students and classes can be created locally.
Responsibilities:
Involved in Architecture, Design, and Development of the complete Client/ server application.

Anti-Theft
Involved in Architecture, Design, and Development of a client/server application using sockets to lock a laptop when it beyond the reach of the server for more than a stipulated period. The client runs on laptops and gets the time and date from a particular server and resets the local clock to synchronize with the server. When the server is not available, the client calculates the time elapsed since the last contact with the server, and if the time exceeds a certain limit, the mouse and keyboard are locked and the screen is covered with a custom bitmap. The application can also automatically look up domain controllers. The mouse and keyboard are reactivated, once the client is able to reestablish contact with the server.
Responsibilities:
Involved in Architecture, Design, and Development of the complete client/ server application.
The application was developed using object space.
Developed the UI of the locked up laptop.
Developed the Hooking dll to lock the keyboard and mouse of the laptop.
Install kit was created using Install shield professional 2.03.
Multithreading to handle dialog messages.
The application uses Windows sockets to get the time from the server.
Win 32 APIs have been used for Registry handling, time set-up etc.
Used Clear case for configuration management.
Error reporting to log file.
Unit and integration testing.
T1-Service Step 1
Designed, developed and tested a CTI application, which configures ISDN telephones manufactured by Bosch. Designed the GUI and concept from the user and marketing requirements. The application allows the user to connect to a Bosch ISDN telephone and load the data to the PC, where the user can configure the features of the phone by Drag & Drop or by setting values using Windows common controls like Property pages, Combo box, check box, list control etc. Similarly he can also configure telephone book entries. The data can then be sent back to the terminal. Multiple configurations could be changed simultaneously. In this mode the configuration files were loaded from the PABX, modified and sent back to the switch.
Responsibilities:
Involved in Architecture, Design, Development and Testing.
Designed the GUI and architecture for the application from scratch using user and marketing requirements.
The application was developed using VC++ 5.0 and MFC.
Install kit was created using Install shield.
DAO was used for data connectivity.
MS Access was used as the backend database.
Developed the GUI for the Telephone book data handling of the application.
Developed the data storage architecture for the application.
Used VSS for configuration management.
Worked as team leader and handled project meetings, task allocation, design & code reviews.
Proper error handling.
Unit and Integration testing.
The application was developed using VC++ 6.0 and MFC.
Designed the GUI for the teacher application. Implemented student locking and printer selection functionality.
Developed a student application to receive messages from the teacher and locking the student machines or installing printers.
Developed a server application to match student user names to the corresponding IP address.
The student, server and teacher communicate through Winsock.
Used Mutex to prevent multiple instances of the application from starting.
Win 32 APIs have been used for installing printer, creating threads, creating dialogs etc.
Multithreading to handle dialog messages.
Used MS Access as backend database.
Used Clear case for configuration management.
Error reporting to application log.
Unit and integration testing.
Packaging of application using Install shield Professional 2.03
