I charge USD: $0.20 (20c) per 500 words or part thereof (for a minimum of 30,000 words). A beta reader must be familiar with your genre in order to give you the best feedback. The task of a beta reader is to give you a summary of what works in your manuscript and what could work better. Beta reading is done at a content level, which means that your beta reader must be proficient in your particular genre.  I do beta reading in the following broad genres (in alphabetical order): Some people believe you should have more than one beta reader to give you as much input as possible. My feeling is that more than two may mess with your head and have you changing back the things you've already changed, but it's really about personal preference. I will give you a written report of my findings with regard to these questions: My report will give reasons, examples, and suggestions.
