China has significantly improved its citizens' access to healthcare and reduced poverty at home. Gates stated, "I hope it plays a bigger role in resolving the present global difficulties confronting African countries in particular.

Gates emphasized that technological innovation is necessary to address the issues of climate change, inequality in access to health care, and food security. He noted that China has had successful experiences in many areas, including the development of malaria medications, innovations in agriculture and nutrition, and the fight against climate change.

Notably, Gates' trip and meeting with Xi occurred before Australian Foreign Minister Anthony Blinke's formal trip to China this past weekend.

Blinken is anticipated to meet with Xi and other representatives to talk about the issues in the two countries' recent tense bilateral relations.
